Dr. Emma Camp is an award-winning marine biologist and one of the world’s leading researchers working to understand and protect coral reefs.
As a scientist at the University of Technology Sydney, Dr. Camp studies how certain corals are able to survive in extreme environments—places where scientists once thought corals could not live. Her research could provide important clues for helping coral reefs survive rising ocean temperatures and the effects of climate change.
Dr. Camp is also a National Geographic Explorer and has traveled to coral reefs around the world to conduct research and explore some of our planet’s most fascinating underwater ecosystems.
Her work has earned international recognition, including being named a Rolex Awards Associate Laureate and one of the United Nations Young Leaders for the Sustainable Development Goals.
