Careers in Fitness Influencing
Daniel T. Fahey

Dan is a military veteran, fitness coach, endurance athlete, and the founder of Gritty Soldier Fitness, a training company he launched in 2020 to help people build strength, endurance, resilience, and the kind of athleticism needed for demanding military and hybrid fitness challenges.

His approach to fitness comes from more than 18 years of training, education, and real-world experience. Dan is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Nutrition Specialist, Certified Physique Coach, and Certified Behavioral Change Specialist.

Dan’s military career has included multiple combat deployments and extensive advanced training, including survival skills, tactical training, and the demanding U.S. Army Ranger School. Staying physically and mentally prepared was not just part of his job—it was essential to completing difficult missions and supporting the people around him.

Outside of the military, Dan has continued to challenge himself through some of the toughest endurance events in the world. He has competed twice in the Best Ranger Competition, completed the Bataan Memorial Death March, a 50-mile race in Kauai, a 70.3 Ironman, and both the summer and winter versions of the legendary Fan Dance endurance challenge in Wales.

Dan is also a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal with Valor and the Purple Heart. His experiences have shaped a philosophy centered on resilience, teamwork, discipline, and refusing to quit when things become difficult.

Through Gritty Soldier Fitness, Dan teaches people that progress does not come from being perfect—it comes from consistently putting in the effort, learning to handle discomfort, and continuing forward when challenges arise. His story gives students a powerful look at military service, physical fitness, leadership, mental toughness, entrepreneurship, and what it means to keep pushing toward a goal even when the path is difficult.
